Why Visit Nepal? (Namaste!)
The country of Nepal is famous for being home to the tallest mountain in
the world, Mount Everest. Eight of the 14 tallest mountains on the
globe lie within the country's borders, including Kanchenjunga, Lhotse,
Makalu and Cho Oyu. These mountains make Nepal a heaven for professional
climbers. The geography of Nepal is broken up into regions of
mountains, wetlands and plains. Within the wetlands, there are 30
natural caves, including Maratika Cave, which is a famous pilgrimage
site for Buddhists and Hindus. The Luri and Tashi Kabum caves house
murals that date as far back as the 13th century.
